game of thrones - daenerys paintsketch by shorelle game of thrones - daenerys paintsketch by shorelle
Just a rough painting/sketch of Daenerys Targaryen and (a slightly more grown-up, but still not fully-sized...) Drogon from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones :D

I had some close-up scans of paint swatches from a design project, and got the urge to draw on them as well, which ended up turning into a blobby mass of dragon :XD: Just playing around with colours, because I love Dany's blue cloak from Season 3 of the show too!

What a pretty Daenerys. I love seeing such pictures, based on books (well, partially) not the show *damn you, HBO*

Thank you! :huggle: Yeah, it's interesting to see how fanart depictions of the characters have changed since the HBO series. I've found that my image of them now is sort of a weird combination of the show and how I pictured them when I first read the books... to varying degrees depending on the character and how different their actor is to how I imagined :P

Drop dead gorgeous. Dany is beautiful (gotta love that cloak) and the seriously mysterious/dangerous looking red glow is pretty awesome and gives an edge (although he was already pretty badass) to Drogon.
Love love love

Aww, I'm sure it won't!! :huggle: Painter might take a bit of getting used to just because it's set up differently to Photoshop (but I always found Photoshop harder to use anyway x_x), but I basically have a default set of brushes that I use a lot - I use the Real 2B Pencil for sketching/outlines, the Fine Pen for blocks of colour, and a combination of the Clumpy Brush/Calligraphy Pen/Captured Bristle Brush to get a bit of texture. The cool thing about Painter is that it has a lot of blender brushes to blend colours, I really like Just Add Water for smooth blending and Water Rake for a rough effect :) But there are sooo many options to choose from, play with them until you find ones that work for you!

For colours, I tend to reference colours from photos with colour schemes that I like, and adjust to make it fit the painting :D

Hopefully that made a bit of sense! :XD: Let me know if you have any questions in particular~!
